Boohoo

Boohoo was a company in its infancy when I originally worked with them to launch their first ecommerce site. More recently I worked with them to redesign the look and feel of the website along with the taking the site responsive. The timeframes were very short on this project so much of the design work I did “in the browser” prototyping the page designs as HTML. This allowed finished pages that were production ready immediatly after getting design approval. The project finished two weeks ahead of schedule.

For the duration of this project I worked at the client offices to get a deeper understanding of how the business operated. I was then able to make changes to how content was managed via the ‘admin control panel’ reducing workload on various departments across the business.

As there was no distinction between the design and the build phase of this project using version control allowed myself and the developers to work simultaniously on the site build. It was an absolutely essential tool that enabled an iterative approach to the project.

I broke the site down into individual pages and then again into individual elements that made up each page. The iterative process generally started with a sketch or wireframe which would then be built as a prototype. The look and feel would then be refined in the broswer, then tested. At this point it would either be signed off or refined further or in some cases completely thrown out and the process would start again.
