Kate Spade are a fashion company based in New York and have over 140 retail shops in the United States and over 175 retail shops internationally. When they expanded their operation into the UK I was responsible for designing their new responsive ecommerce website. The site design follows the Kate Spade brand values to achieve a sophisticated but fun asthetic aimed at the young female professional. The UI is clean allowing the product images to jump from the page and the campaign photography to shine. There are also useful features such as product recommendations, refine your search and options to buy multiple items as part of an outfit. All aimed at enhancing the experience of shopping on the site.
After trading successfull for 18 months in the UK they expanded into the French market and then again into the rest of Europe (Germany, Spain, Italy, & Netherlands) 12 months later. I was responsible for managing all the design assests needed across various languages and currencies and for putting processes in place to make sure this was streamlined for site updates. Following the launch of the EU sites I was responsible for the design and creative of monthly site refreshes. This involved creating design assetts and new pages, building them to be responsive and publishing them to the site across each of the EU regions.
